MITRE is hosting a meeting of researchers, engineers, scientists, students, and project managers to share ideas and keep up with recent advances in the field of additive manufacturing (AM) for antennas and electromagnetic structures. Past presentation topics have included AM antennas, novel material development, multi-material AM, electromagnetic and mechanical effects, micro-fluidic antennas, 3D-printed phased arrays, 3D-printed RF lenses, gradient dielectric structures, and lessons learned from using different types of AM machines and processes. During previous MITRE workshops, government organizations have presented technical talks as well as government concerns about material standards, information security, speed of production, and manufacturing at the point of need. The 2018 symposium saw an increased presence of industry organizations, showing that additive manufacturing is accelerating outside the arena of basic academic research. Academic institutions have continuously shown impressive advances in methods and materials to develop novel devices and integrated electromagnetic solutions. The goal of the symposium is to link the capabilities of academia and industry with the needs of MITRE’s government sponsors and to facilitate collaboration among the AM community.

• Hybrid Event
  The MITRE Workshop is organized as a hybrid event. This includes in-person gathering at the MITRE campus in McLean, VA and online participation. 
• U.S. Citizenship Requirement
  Due to ITAR restrictions pertaining to the technical information that will be discussed at the workshop, registration and attendance is limited to U.S. Citizens and U.S. Resident Aliens (green card holders) only. Foreign nationals will not be permitted to attend in-person or remotely/virtually.
• Time
  The symposium will begin at 9:00 AM on May 9 and will conclude after the last presentation on May 10.
• Security
  All visitors to MITRE facilities must wear a visitor badge. Badges may be picked up each day in the MITRE-1 lobby with a government-issued ID such as a driver’s license or passport to validate identity. Badges must be turned in before leaving the building.
• Meals/Refreshments
  A continental breakfast and lunch will be served. Coffee will be available during the morning break and refreshments will be served during the afternoon break.
• Internet
  MITRE guests can access the internet for 12 hours by using the Guest@MITRE Wi-Fi network. Guests will choose the Guest@MITRE network and fill out the self-registration form to create an account.
• Presentation Materials
  After the conclusion of the symposium, registered attendees will receive a link to a central repository where the presented briefings (only briefings authorized for distribution) will be available for download.
